Prerequisite: None. This is the beginning level course.


Description: Video Game Training Series 1 provides the foundation in  Autodesk 3ds Max and Adobe Photoshop. Learn the basics of 3ds Max and  Photoshop, their user interfaces, tools, workflow, and techniques  required for a level of professionalism found only in game developers.  In the first series, modeling will be explored, explained and created,  step by step allowing for a confident grasp and understanding of  modeling, unwrapping and texturing objects for the first time. The  training provides a comfortable and achievable ramp of learning. Each  lesson builds on the other, providing the learner a constant opportunity  to learn and grow with each project.  

Project Files Included: All 3ds Max files, Texture images and References  (100+ images) are included on the DVD.  Also included is a starter pack  of 100+ seamless textures for use on your own projects.

Topics Covered:  Introduction to 3ds Max, Introduction to Photoshop,  Introduction to PixPlant, Setting up Software and preferences, Crate  Lab, Barrel Lab, Table lab, Catapult Lab, Castle Scene, Five Digital  Painting styles (Airbrush, Comic Book, Smudge Layer, Hard Brush, and  Brush Blending), 2D Digital Portrait Lab, Seamless Game Texture Creation  and a complete step by step guide to 2D Animation including animation  principles, Ball bounce, Walk, Run, Attack, sketching in the motions,  and creating Sprite Sheets for games.
